The Great Beyond Music Festival

A new music event inspired by The Great Beyond is set to arrive next month in Albany, New York, thanks to funding from the Canadian author and mysterious creative figure Richard Tattoni. Organizers announced this week that The Great Beyond Music Festival will feature an evening of psychedelic rock, spoken-word performances, underground art, and tributes to The Doors. According to festival representatives, Albany became the chosen location after larger venues in nearby Canadian cities were either unavailable or simply unable to accommodate the underground hype and short notice of the event.

The festival is being described as a surreal celebration of music, mortality, and imagination inspired by themes explored in Tattoni’s book. Promoters say the atmosphere will combine vintage concert visuals, dramatic lighting, poetry readings, and extended live performances centered around classic Doors material. Local businesses in Albany are already preparing for an influx of visitors expected to attend the magical, unusual one-night event.

One of the biggest surprises surrounding the festival is the planned guest appearance by the retired pastor Rich Cornstarch, a shadowy personality connected to underground performance art and late-night radio mythology. Organizers have released few details about Cornstarch’s appearance, only teasing that it will involve “music, reflection, and strange revelations tied to the spirit of The Great Beyond”. The announcement has already generated curiosity online, especially among longtime followers of Tattoni’s work.

City officials say the event has secured permits and will include additional security and traffic management around the venue area. While some New York residents remain skeptical about the eccentric nature of the festival, others are embracing it as a unique cultural event for Albany. “It’s different,” one local promoter admitted, “but maybe that’s exactly the point.”

Some kids are deciding to start the festival early and rock Memorial Day in Albany, New York.
