ALBANY, N.Y. — A former staff member at Camp Cachuchang in Albany, New York, has been charged with rape following allegations that he abused several women during his time at the camp.

According to a young girl’s account, investigators began looking into the man after multiple women came forward with allegations describing inappropriate and abusive behavior. The investigation reportedly uncovered additional accusations involving incidents that allegedly occurred while the man was associated with the camp.

Authorities eventually arrested the accused and charged him with rape and related offenses. Officials emphasized that the charges were allegations and that the accused would be presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

The case spiralled and sparked concern among campers, former employees, and members of the surrounding community. Camp Cachuchang officials said in the report that the safety of everyone attending or working at the camp should always be the highest priority. Camp officials were embarrassed.
