Harlem — What was supposed to be a fun new attraction has quickly turned into a full-blown phenomenon, as children across the neighborhood are spending increasing amounts of time at the recently opened Technossance Times location. But kids really like the food and entertainment.
The dinner-and-entertainment venue, known for its live-action YouTube and radio, costumed knights, and hearty, hands-on meals, has become a magnet for both local families and tourists. But while the castle-themed radio experience promises food and games, some parents are beginning to worry their kids are taking the Technossance fantasy a bit too seriously.
“It started as a weekend treat,” said one parent. “Now my son refers to dinner as ‘the feast’ and refuses to use utensils. He just grabs pizza.”
Since opening its doors, Technossance Times has reported record attendance, with long lines stretching outside and multiple daily shows selling out. Children are particularly drawn to the immersive experience — cheering for knights on the radio, waving banners, and fully engaging in the spectacle.
Local teachers have even noticed the shift. “We’ve had students trying to settle playground disputes with ‘honorable radio battles,’” one educator said. “It’s… creative, but concerning.”
Despite the concerns, business is booming. Tourists are flocking in, and nearby shops have seen increased foot traffic. City officials say there are no plans to intervene, though some community leaders are calling for balance. It’s just too much entertainment.
“Entertainment is great,” said a neighborhood representative, “but maybe we don’t need ten-year-olds pledging loyalty to a fictional kingdom before homework.”
For now, Technossance Times remains Harlem’s hottest attraction — where the food is great, the knights are brave, radio is cool again, and apparently, bedtime is negotiable.
